Direct Mail Still Works: A Small-Business Postcard Playbook

Direct Mail Still Works: A Small-Business Postcard Playbook

A postcard that lands in a kitchen gets more attention than an email that lands in a tab. Here's how local businesses get results from a modest mailing.

Start with the list

Your own customers first: a postcard to past customers with a specific reason to return outperforms any cold list. For new reach, Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) lets you hit every address on chosen postal routes without buying names.

One offer, one deadline

"$10 off any order over $50, through November 30" works. "Check out our great services" doesn't. Put the offer on both sides so it survives whichever way the card lands.

Size and stock

6" × 9" or 6" × 11" cards stand out in the pile and still mail at the postcard rate for EDDM. 14pt gloss cover with a matte back gives a writeable address side.

Track it

Use a code word ("mention SUNSET"), a dedicated QR code, or a landing page you only print on the card. If you can't measure it, you can't repeat what worked.

We print, address and deliver to the post office. Ask about our postcard bundles.
